For the 15th consecutive year Mercy Health has been recognised as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality by the WGEA. We are one of 120 organisations Australia wide to be awarded the citation, the only organisation in the Aged Care Residential Services industry and one of only three in the Health Care and Social Assistance industry.

Mercy Mental Health Carer Consultant Helen Lococo was recognised for her contribution to Victorian families of people with mental health.

This award recognises the service and contribution of local heroes to the Lalor electorate community (Werribee Mercy Hospital Emergency Department).

Dr Bernadette White was recognised for her 30-year career in obstetrics and gynaecology with Mercy Health, her dedication to the health sector and unwavering commitment to women’s health and women-centred care.

These awards recognise the innovation, teamwork, and emerging talent in Australia’s palliative care sector (Mercy Palliative Care 24-hour specialist palliative care service).

Mercy Health was recognised for our national early intervention injury management program to respond immediately to workplace injuries, promote recovery at work and empower managers to effectively support injured employees. 

This award recognises the development and delivery of innovative services, particularly devoted to improving the health status of the vulnerable and/or the marginalised (Mercy Palliative Care 24-hour specialist palliative care service).

Dr Stella Liong was recognised for her research: The immunoproteasome: A novel therapeutic target for spontaneous preterm birth.

Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Project Officer Ms Megan McKechnie was recognised for her commitment to clients with complex alcohol and other drug-related problems.

Fr Cormac Nagle OFM was recognised for his tireless efforts and countless contributions to Catholic health and pastoral care, as well as his theological, educational, ethical and bioethical work.

This award recognises excellence and innovation in the use of human capital technology by an in-house HR team. Mercy Health was judged on consultation, strategy, implementation and results.

Mercy Health was recognised for excellence and innovation in workplace flexibility programs and initiatives and was judged on consultation, strategy, implementation and results.

The Employer of Choice Awards recognise organisations which have developed leading workplaces that maximise the full potential of their workforce through practices that demonstrate effective employee recruitment, engagement and retention.

This award recognises organisations with strategies or initiatives supporting and encouraging employees to regularly and meaningfully ask 'are you ok?' to support those struggling with life. Other finalists included Bristow Group, Monash University and P&O Maritime Australasia.

Aroha Cookson. Ms Cookson works at Mercy Place Wyndham and started her Personal Care Attendant traineeship with Mercy Health in 2010, providing residents with considerate and compassionate care.
