The Werribee Mercy Hospital Fair is back — with a new look! Wyndham residents are encouraged to save the date for the Easter Fair which will be held on Sunday 25 March from 11am to 3pm at the Victoria University campus in Hoppers Lane, Werribee.
First held in 1994 as a community fair, the family-friendly event was a regular fixture for staff, patients and the local community for more than 16 years. It was reintroduced in 2015 and remains a popular event in the community calendar.
Mercy Health Chief Executive – Health Services Adjunct Professor Linda Mellors said the fair will take on an Easter theme this year, and will include live entertainment, a variety of stalls run by members of the community and staff, food trucks, kids’ activities, rides and an appearance from the Easter Bunny, among others. Admission is free and ride wristbands will be available for purchase on the day.
“Whether you are looking for handmade crafts, gifts, or some fun activities for the whole family such as an Easter egg hunt, there will be something for everyone at the fair,” says Adjunct Professor Mellors.
“You will also be contributing to a great cause as all money raised from the day will go towards the hospital’s Critical Care Unit. Your support will help us to expand our services to help cater for the growing community.”
The Victorian Government is providing $85 million for Werribee Mercy Hospital’s critical expansion which will open in mid-2018, and the fair will provide much-needed fundraising support.
