Mercy Health is pleased to have celebrated Harmony Week (15–21 March) with multiple events held across the organisation this week. Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. As an organisation represented by 131 different countries and 73 languages we are glad to celebrate the diversity of those we work with every day.
Mercy Health held events at Werribee Mercy Hospital, Mercy Hospital for Women, Support Services Richmond and Support Services Hughesdale where we enjoyed the company of colleagues and delightful treats provided by African catering company, The Sorghum Sisters.
At Werribee Mercy Hospital and Support Services Richmond we were privileged to hear from guest speaker Akuol Garang, Refugee and Human Rights Activist. Akuol spoke of her time in a refugee camp where she spent the first 10 years of her life and her early years as a young Sudanese girl adapting to life in Australia.
