On Monday 29 February, Mercy Place Fernhill residential aged care home celebrated its first year of service.
The significant milestone was attended by leaders of Mercy Health and Friends of Mercy Place Fernhill, and was marked with an afternoon tea and live entertainment for residents and their families.
Mercy Health Operations Director Aged Care Voula Yankoulas thanked residents, their families and the wider community for warmly receiving the aged care home and for their ongoing contribution to its success.
“We are proud to nurture companionship and a sense of belonging with our residents and the local community, whilst providing the highest quality care to all of those who call Mercy Place Fernhill home,” she said.
“Our home empowers its residents to take control of their day and live as independently as possible.”
Mercy Place Fernhill welcomed its first residents in February 2015 after undergoing a full re-build, which included a number of lounge areas, an activities room, a café, a hairdressing salon, landscaped gardens, and balconies on upper floors, which offer impressive views of Port Phillip Bay and nearby Sandringham Village.
Mercy Health has provided a residential aged care service in Victoria for the past two decades. It has a total number of 22 aged care homes in Australia.
