Mercy Health celebrates International Women’s Day 2024

Mercy Health is excited to celebrate International Women’s Day 2024, and support this year’s global United Nations theme, Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress.

International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women. Mercy Health acknowledges all women across our organisation across the areas of Health Services, Healthy Ageing and Support Services.

This year’s global United Nations theme is Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress. The theme focuses on driving economic empowerment by supporting women in all aspects and providing equal opportunities to accelerate progress.

The time is now to ensure women and girls can access equal opportunity to build their capabilities and strengthen their capacity to learn, earn and lead.

We are looking at ways to remove barriers, to create pathways to support women in achieving equal participation in the economy, and of course, here at Mercy Health.

This International Women’s Day at Mercy Health, we asked our teams to ‘Count Her In’ through a number of activations and initiatives.

‘Count Her In’ trees were installed at Mercy Hospital for Women, Werribee Mercy Hospital and Mercy Health residential aged care homes to give staff an opportunity to write a special message about the women in their teams who inspire them to learn and lead.

International Women’s Day is also an opportunity to formally recognise the achievements of women across Mercy Health with the annual Honour Roll of Women.

Nominated by their colleagues and teams, the women recognised in our Honour Roll of Women are dedicated to their roles, encourage advancement, contribute to gender equality in their community and continue to live Mercy Health’s values. We acknowledge their work and compassion and are proud to announce our 2024 inductees.
